Employee Profile: Piece Rate tab overview.
1. The Employee profile is organized into various tabs. This articles provides an overview of the information in the Piece Rate tab.
Piece rate pay occurs when Employees are paid by the unit produced. This tab in the profile allows a piece rate to be added to an Employee.
TIP! Alternatively, a piece work rate can be assigned to a particular stock item in the inventory. See related article.
2. Navigate to the main menu. Click "Employees"

3. Click "Manage Employees"

4. Click on the selected Employee from the list.

5. Click the "Piece Work" tab

6. Various production areas are listed. The departments listed correspond with the departments assigned to the Employee, in the General tab.

7. Each production department is divided up into a Generic and Specific category.
The Generic Build is the default category, so all production in this department is paid this piece work rate.
One or more Specific Builds can be set up. This allows a separate piece rate to be set up for a specific stock item.

8. For the Generic Build, the piece rate can be divided by quantity.
For example, in the Generic build shown, the first 199 items that the Employee produces is $0.55 per unit. Then over 200 items produced, the other rate will be be applied ($0.80). Multiple quantity ranges can be created, with varying piece rates.

9. Piece work rate ranges can be deleted by clicking the garbage can icon.

10. Click "Add Range" to add a piece rate quantity range.

11. When adding a new range, click this number field to add the starting quantity.

12. Click this number field to add the pay per unit for the range.

13. Click "Add Pallet Type" to add a new Specific Build.

14. Click this field to choose the stock item, from the drop down menu, to add as the Specific Build, then add the piece rate.

15. For Specific Build, also click "Add Range" to add a new quantity range, if needed.

16. Click "Update Employee" to save any changes.
