How To Apply Fuel Surcharge In Pallet Connect

1. A fuel surcharge is an additional fee that companies add to the base price of shipping or services to offset fluctuations in fuel costs. It's designed to help manage the unpredictable nature of fuel prices and protect profit margins when fuel costs rise.

Fuel surcharges can be included in orders within Pallet Connect.

2. Firstly, "fuel surcharge" must be enabled in the system.

"Click "Settings" from the main menu.

3. Then click "System Settings"

4. Click this search field and type "fuel" or search in the "logistics" section of settings.

5. Click here to enable surcharge.

6. Click this number field to set the rate. This rate is applied per distance unit (mile or kilometre).

7. Click "Save Settings" to apply.

8. Next , fuel surcharge must be enabled in the contact profile. Click the "Physical Address" tab in the profile.

9. Click the "Apply Fuel Surcharge" field to enable.

10. Click the "Travel Distance From Warehouse" field to add the distance.

11. Click "Save" to enable.

12. When starting a new order with delivery required. Click the "Apply Fuel Surcharge" field, when prompted on the delivery screen.

13. The rate and distance will be automatically filled out from information provided, but can be changed if needed. Complete the order as usual.

14. The fuel surcharge will be displayed as a separate line on the order.

15. The charge is added as "Fuel Surcharge - Services".

In the Stock category, it is listed as a service.

16. The fuel surcharge will also show as a separate line on the Invoice.

17. The fuel surcharge will be visible in the customer copy of the documents.
