How to Merge Stock Items in Pallet Connect
1. There are times when items need to be merged together. This is different to deleting an item completely, as the history is stored in the item that is kept.
This article explains how to merge stock items within the system.

2. Navigate to the main menu and click "Stock".

3. Click on the selected stock category.
TIP! Items can only be merged within the same stock category. For example a "new" pallet cannot be merged with a "recycled" pallet.

4. Before merging, click on the item that will be merged.

5. Click on the "Linked Contacts" tab in the profile.

6. If this item is linked to contacts within the system, then navigate to the contact profile and remove the item from the list. See related article on linked stock items.

7. To merge stock items, click the action "Menu" at the top right of the list.

8. Click "Merge Stock Items"

9. A pop up screen will appear. Click the "Start Typing To Search By Stock Item Value" field and start typing the name of the stock item. This is the item that will STAY in the records and items will be merged into.

10. Click on the selected item from the drop down.

11. Now, click the other "Start Typing To Search By Stock Item Value" field.

12. Start typing the name of the stock item. This is the item that will be REMOVED from the records and will be merged.

13. More than one item can be merged into the stock item record that will stay. As items are added they will be listed.

14. If an error is made. click this button to remove an item from the merge list.

15. When ready, click "Confirm" to continue.

16. The pop up screen will ask "Are You Sure"? As the process cannot be undone.
Click "Yes" to save.

17. TIP! There is an option to start the process again, for new items to be merged. Click "Merge More Stock Items".

18. Click "Close" to complete.
The "to merge" items will no longer show on any stock lists. However the stock item "to remain" will have updates to the stock history, level etc.
